Midway Swiss Turn started in Smithville, Ohio in 1977 under the name General Tool Company. It was founded by James Rahz, who is now the current President of this family owned and operated company. It began with a single Bridgeport Milling machine in his garage, and now proudly houses a dozen machines in a 10,000 square foot facility. Among the newest machines are seven Swiss type CNC turning centers as well as Haas Vertical and 5-axis mills that eliminate secondary operations when making complex parts. The employees of Midway Swiss Turn have the combined experience of over 75 years in the machining trade.
Education is key to the business and as such, the company is proud to employ a Mechanical Engineering graduate of Akron University, as well as a graduate of the Akron Machining Institute. In addition, all operators and programmers have completed specialized training for the Swiss style CNC screw machine. Our experience combined with excellent education has created a one-of-a kind organization that runs quality parts while still maintaining the “small company” flexibility and atmosphere. We’re small enough to care, and big enough to deliver!
Why Work with Midway?
Each business has unique needs. So, here at Midway Swiss Turn, we work hard to quickly recognize and adapt to those needs. We have purposefully invested in the highest quality resources and developed the technical expertise to tackle demanding projects that other machine shops would rather shy away from.
We also recognize the fact that most customers are ultimately looking for three things: Quality, On-Time Delivery, and Pricing that is comfortable. With this in mind, we handle each project intending to develop a partnership with all parties moving towards the same goal.
